Tareen, who has previously arranged fashion week mixes for designers like Sana Safinaz, Adnan Pardesy, Aamna Aqeel, Tena Durrani, says that she is “honoured to not only model for the FPW finale, but to also do the music for Maheen Khan, who has always been one of my icons.”
Maheen Khan’s collection is inspired by the uber-sophisticated women of Karachi from the sixties and seventies, who were rooted in the east but modern in their interpretation of the eastern styles. Hira Tareen’s music aims to reflect a bit of nostalgia and mystery, along with a touch emotion.
“While I wouldn’t call the soundtrack a literal interpretation of Maheen Khan’s collection and vision, I hope it can still compliment it well in an abstract way.” Hira Tareen explains.
The Grand Finale of Fashion Pakistan Week – Autumn Winter 2014 by the ‘Mother of Pakistani fashion’ Maheen Khan will be held in Karachi on November 27th, with her collection titled “To Karachi with Love”.
