The Little Art announces the opening of the 6th Lahore International Children’s Film Festival

LICFF LogoThe Little Art, the non-profit organization for non-formal education in Pakistan held the Opening Ceremony of the 6th Lahore International Children’s Film Festival (LICFF) at Faletti’s Hotel. This year, the Festival will be presented by The Little Art in collaboration with Cinepax Cinemas from 10th  November till 15th November 2014 at the Cinepax Cinema, Fortress Square, Lahore.  A total of 169 films for children from 45 countries will be showcased at the festival.
The opening ceremony was well attended and featured the Honorable Minister of Education & Youth Affairs Punjab, Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan as Chief Guest. Among the participants, writer Mr. Asghar Nadeem Syed, Mr. Usman Peerzada and Mr. Adeel Hashmi also graced the event with their presence and spoke on the importance of such festivals in Pakistan. Films made by Pakistani students that were selected to be screened at the festival this year were awarded certificates and prizes by the honorable guests. The ceremony also screened a showreel of the officially selected short films made by the students from Lahore Grammar School 535 JT, LACAS Burki campus, Azam Garrison and Beaconhouse National University.
Festival Director, Shoaib Iqbal said: “This year is a celebration of the most amazing films we have ever received especially made for, by and about children and young people from across the globe. With that in mind we are proud to bring open the Festival with another fantastic program that showcases the best of global cinema in all its diversity. I invite audiences to open their minds to the many stories told through the efforts of The Little Art. We also ask you to support our initiative in contributing to the artistic and cultural life for children of Pakistan”.
The Little Art, is a not for profit organization committed to raising standards in education and aims to provide opportunities for children to experience the arts as a vehicle for social, cultural and economic development. The organization has been organizing the Lahore International Children’s Film Festival every year since 2008.
