Like in the rest of the world, the big-budget movie will be released in cinemas across Pakistan on October 2.
‘Bang Bang’ is directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Fox Star Studios. It is an official remake of the Hollywood film Knight and Day with Hrithik and Katrina in lead roles performed by Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz respectively in the original.
Other prominent cast members include Denny Danzongpa, Jaaved Jaffrey and Jimmy Shergill.
It’s an interesting storyline that gets better as the movie progresses. A chance encounter of the unassuming bank receptionist Harleen Sahni (Katrina Kaif) with the charming yet mysterious Rajveer Nanda (Hrithik Roshan), results in an on-rush of ditched planes, car chases, shoot-outs, bombing raids and general global mayhem. But as the transcontinental chase ensues with Rajveer convincing Harleen that he’s the good guy, can she really trust him, and will trust matter when the bullets start flying?
The high-octane, action-film, has been shot across the world in places like Prague, Phuket, Greece, US as well as our very own Shimla, Manali, Delhi and Mumbai. Bang Bang is a visual delight in every frame.
According to director Siddharth Anand, Bang Bang is Hrithik Roshan’s biggest action film till date and it features sequences that have never been done before on Indian cinema.
Talking about one of the highlights in the film, the director reveals, “We can control the action we shoot on land, but while shooting at sea, you’re at the mercy of the tide. Three days before the shoot, Hrithik started practicing the stunts for five-six hours daily. It took us eight days to shoot the sequences in water”.
Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studios says that ‘Bang Bang’ features great emotion and chemistry complemented by a big canvas.
Katrina Kaif flaunted her action skills in parts of Ek Tha Tiger, but did not get a chance to be a part of the thrills in Dhoom 3. In Bang Bang, director Siddharth Anand assures that she is very much a part of the action in the film. “She is integral to the script and we needed someone who could perform stunts.
Katrina says, “Harleen is a simple girl living her simple life before she gets embroiled in Rajveer’s (Hrithik) life and ends up becoming the exact opposite of what she was. Harleen’s journey is exciting and I hope everyone joins us on this roller coaster ride of fun, action and romance.”
Siddharth elaborates, “Rarely in an action film do the hero and heroine have equal parts. In that aspect, Bang Bang stands apart. So, it was important to cast someone who stands tall with Hrithik Roshan. And we found the perfect match in Katrina.”
