The month of August has not only been politically epic, the entertainment industry this month has been full of surprises too. And the biggest surprise till now has been the revelation of the Lux Style Awards nominees. Along with so many new talented names, one such name in the nominations is that of the band ‘SOCH’.
SOCH excitedly announces that it has been nominated for Best Emerging Talent category for the 13th Lux Style Awards. Lux Style Awards hail as the most prestigious awards in Pakistan so far by all the leading media channels. Speaking on the band’s nomination the entire Team Soch is super excited. While band lead vocalist Adnan Dhool and rhythm guitarist Rabi Ahmed have been quoted saying that being nominated for something as prestigious as Lux Style Award is an amazing feeling.
Soch’s Bollywood deubt in 2014, is the track titled ‘Awari’ for Mohit Suri directed film ‘Ek Villain’ starring Shardha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhothra and Ritesh Deshmukh. Awari features Prachi Deasi in the video. ‘Awari’ is written, composed and rendered by Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed of Soch. In contrary to the original version featured in Nescafe Basement (Season I) in 2012, Awari for Ek Villain features female vocals of the US-based Momina Mustehsan, in a duet with Adnan Dhool.
Soch is not only proud of ‘Awari’ as its debut in Bollywood, but also bags the credit of introducing Momina Mustehsan in Bollywood, thus making, ‘Awari’ as her debut in Bollywood too.
Soch, the band, comprises of two very talented musicians, Adnan Dhool and Rabi Ahmed. The duo offers a unique, fresh and soulful approach to their earthy music. With Adnan Dhool at the helm, with his gritty vocals, complemented by Rabi Ahmed’s guitar rhythms and thought provoking lyrics, Soch takes you on a fervent musical journey, with intense lyrics and compositions hitting the very core of your heart.
Soch’s first single ‘Bandeya’ directed by Murtaza Niaz (Murzie), released in 2009 topped the charts on ARY Musik and on the likes of it and received some mainstream radio airplay. It was then, no looking back for the band!! Soch’s debut song titled “Bandeya” in 2009 established them as an innovative force that uncovered a sound which showcased their melodic and progressive music style. Following the first release, Soch under the mentorship of Xulfi (Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan), became one of the pioneering artists in Nestle’s Nescafe Basement (Season I) in 2012. Uth Jawan, Ajeeb Se and Awari, giving these wonderful foot tapping originals in Nescafe Basement, Soch was soon acknowledged for their wonderful music and style. Soch reinforced their distinctive sound and also demonstrated their passion, evolution and growth as musicians and songwriters within the pop, rock genre.
Soch gave another heart rendering thought provoking track ‘Khabar’ for Shahzad Nawaz’s Chambili, which then followed by their video Hamesha which is directed by internationally acclaimed Adnan Qazi and styled by none other than Pakistan’s very own Fahad Hussayn.
